Dish Network, one of the first major companies to accept Bitcoin as a payment method, has announced that it accepts bitcoin cash now.
Support for a second cryptocurrency comes four years later after the US-based subscription TV provider decides to accept the bitcoin in 2014. At that time, it was the world’s largest firm to accept 14 million customers, to accept bitcoin.
Dish customers can now use both Cryptocurrencies to pay for monthly subscription and pay-per-view movies.
According to the release, customers need to send the exact amount of bitcoin or bitcoin cash needed to pay one time day on their website or set-top box.
COO John Swiering, Dish Executive Vice President, said in a press release: “We have added bitcoin cash, as we have chosen to accept bitcoin, who have adopted a new way of doing business.”
With the announcement, Dish indicated that he had switched his crypto payment processor and would use the services provided by BitPay, saying that the move would give users a great degree of “choice and convenience” .
BitPay is one of the largest cryptocurrency payment providers. It raised $ 40 million in the series B funding in April.
